We Believe No Caregiver Should Feel Alone
How Are You Mom was born from a simple truth: caring for an aging parent is one of the hardest things you'll ever do, and you shouldn't have to do it alone.
The "How Are You?" That Started It All
It started with a phone call. The kind where you ask "how are you, mom?" and realize the answer is more complicated than you expected.
Suddenly you're navigating doctor's appointments, difficult conversations, and the guilt of never feeling like you're doing enough. Sound familiar?
We created How Are You Mom because we've been there. We know what it's like to lie awake at 3am wondering if you made the right decision. We know the loneliness of being surrounded by people who just don't get it.
And we know how powerful it is to finally connect with people who do.
Stephen Kong
Founder & Facilitator
Stephen started How Are You Mom after his own experience caring for his aging parents. What began as a personal journey through the challenges of caregiving became a mission to help others feel less alone.
He facilitates every support group session, creating a space where caregivers can be honest, vulnerable, and even laugh about the absurdity of it all.
What We Believe
The principles that guide everything we do
Compassion First
Every caregiver's journey is different. We meet you where you are, without judgment, with open hearts.
Real Connection
Small groups, same people, real relationships. Not anonymous strangers — a community that knows your story.
Finding Lightness
Caregiving is heavy enough. We believe in finding moments of humor and joy, even in the hard stuff.
